My pals at Partners Bank let me sniff all around town to find the absolute BEST Valentine’s Day activities in New England. Whether you’re looking for free winter activities in Maine and New Hampshire, or trying out a new date night dinner location, I’ve compiled a list that’s sure to make your loved one jumps with excitement!
Free February Activities in New England
No need to fork up any bones here, my friends at Partners Bank helped me compile some fun free February activities in New England.
Paint the Town Red
Kennebunk, Maine’s ode to Valentine’s Day
A stroll through Kennebunk, Maine is just what the love doctor ordered this February with their annual Paint The Town Red celebration. Local Maine businesses, shop owners, and even residents come together to decorate the town in red for the entire month of February. See heart-shaped decorations and red twinkling lights line the streets of this quaint coastal New England town. If you’re looking to explore for the weekend, many of these local Maine businesses offer special Valentine’s Day deals on food and lodging.
Ice Skating in New England
Strawberry Banke Ice Skating Rink, Portsmouth, NH.
Boy, do my humans love taking advantage of the free skate availability at the Strawberry Banke Ice Skating rink in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. While Strawberry Banke does sell tickets for $12, they also let me and my pals at Partners Bank know that they offer limited free skate tickets and are available 10 minutes before opening! I’m all for this but… I may need your help finding four skates in my size.
Picnic in the Snow
Create a winter picnic for you and your love
We all know that walks are one of my favorite winter activities, the snow glistens off the trees, the birds chirping, and the way snowballs just materialize out of thin air. There’s nothing better than a nice winter day to enjoy outdoors with your loved one. So pack a picnic, bring snacks from home and wear your snowsuit, I’ll pack my fur coat. Fun adventures like this show your partner how much you care and are a fun way to enjoy February activities in New England.

Learn to cook from the pros at Stonewall Kitchen in York, Maine
Unfortunately, even the goodest of boys are no good in the kitchen, but my pals at Partners Bank tell me that taking a cooking class at Stonewall Kitchen in York, Maine is a great time. Covering everything from breakfast and brunch to dinner & desserts, cooking classes are a fun way to work with your partner and enjoy a meal all at the same time! Maybe you’re not the next Top Chef, but enjoying a home-cooked meal is one of my favorite pastimes, I practically lick the plate after every meal my humans make. This Valentine’s Day check out one of the many meal delivery boxes available online. Make a dish you’ve never made before or challenge your partner to a pizza cook-off!
