Dedicated to Supporting Our Veterans
South Sanford staff makes donation to Springvale VA cemetery
Employees at our South Sanford branch take the institution’s commitment to the community personally. In fact, the staff members take it upon themselves to raise money within the branch regularly in order to make a donation to a worthy local cause.
The staff votes on a favorite cause toward which to give, from the selection of local funds that they manage at the bank. Recently, the employees in South Sanford pooled together $100 which was then given to Forrest Mansur of Heritage Memorials, a quality monument service in the area; the money will then go to the Southern Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery Association, being used for continued upkeep and beautification of the VA cemetery in Springvale.
“Mr. Mansur was extremely pleased and grateful, and we were honored to help the VA,” said Dee Richard, Market Manager in South Sanford. “Helping people in the community has been an amazing experience for all of us.”
Other local causes aided by our South Sanford employees have included, but are not limited to, the local Boy Scouts, Water for Good, Samaritan’s Purse, Sanford Backpack Program, York County Shelter, and Coats for Kids.
For more information on Mansur’s business, visit http://www.heritagememorialsme.com/, and for more information on the Southern Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, visit http://www.maine.gov/dvem/bvs/southern.htm.
