MANCHESTER, N.H.—The need to stock food pantries across the country is at an all-time high, but Partners Bank has helped put meals on tables once again through their Employee Donation Program, sending $500 to the New Hampshire Food Bank this month.

Charlotte Hubbard, who currently serves as the Market Manager for the Bank’s Portsmouth branch, was selected as the program’s 57th recipient to choose a non-profit or a charity of her choice to receive $500 for the month of December.

It was an easy choice for Hubbard, calling it a “no brainer.”

“I chose the NH Food Bank primarily because it’s the most cost-effective way to get food and essentials to people in need,” she said. “Especially now during the employment downturn due to COVID-19.”

The Food Bank opened its doors on World Food Day in 1984 and currently operates as the only food bank in the state. It is also a vital distributor and supplier to numerous hunger relief agencies that serve meals and provide groceries to those who are experiencing the challenges of not having enough to eat. These agencies currently receive about 50% of their food from the Food Bank.

“Food banks and pantries have been on our mind all season long, especially during the holidays,” Bank President and CEO, Blaine Boudreau said. “We thank Charlotte for choosing this wonderful organization so that people can continue to receive the resources they need not just through the holidays, but as we continue to maneuver through the challenges of the pandemic.”

It is estimated that $1 of every donation provides two meals. If you’d like to donate to the NH Food Bank, visit https://nhfoodbank.org.
