Partners Bank’s Cathy Buffum stands with a check for $1,000 to Community Dental after being selected for the bank’s Employee Donation Program in May.

Sanford, Maine—Partners Bank has announced that they have doubled the donation for their Employee Donation Program. An employee is randomly selected each month to choose a nonprofit to receive a donation. As of this month, the donation will be $1,000 each month to a deserving nonprofit.
Community Dental is the recipient of the Partners Bank Employee Donation Program for the month of May. Cathy Buffum, VP and senior commercial banker, has chosen Community Dental to receive the program’s monthly gift.

“I chose Community Dental because I see the positive impact the organization brings to the communities it serves,” says Buffum.  “Oral health is such a critical component to a person’s overall health and well being and getting this message out to people is an important part of our mission. This reason and their community-based approach is why I’ve been on the board for 12 years!”

Community Dental has five dental centers in Maine (Portland, Biddeford, Lewiston, Rumford, and Farmington) that provide dental care for adults, children, special needs populations, and seniors. They focus on oral health education and disease prevention through preventive services, also offering restorative and emergency oral care to those in need. Their veteran staff of dedicated dentists and hygienists see over 16,000 patients of all ages each year. They also work closely with Maine Health to provide complementary services and Tufts School of Dental Medicine providing training for dental residents. The organization has been in operation since 1918.
