ROME, Maine—Partners Bank kicked off 2021 in a strong way with their Employee Donation Program, gifting $500 to the Travis Mills Foundation on behalf of Carol Wescott who is a Senior Teller at the Bank’s Buxton location.
Wescott is the 58th employee to be chosen through the program to select an organization of her choice to receive the monthly donation for January. Her inspiration to choose the Foundation was through a customer who is actively involved with the organization.
“I had talked to a customer about the Travis Mills Foundation as she donates her time to the foundation.” Wescott said. “I told her about how the bank picks an employee’s name every month and the employee gets to donate to a charitable organization. I told her if I ever win, that’s who I will donate it to. I’ve only heard good things about the Travis Mills Foundation.”
The Foundation was founded by retired United States Army Staff Sergeant, Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne. Despite losing portions of his arms and legs due to an IED while on active duty in Afghanistan, Mills continues to defy the odds, breaking physical barriers and overcoming many of the challenges he now faces. The Foundation supports post 9/11 recalibrated veterans and their families through long-term programs that help these men and woman overcome similar obstacles, while also supporting their families and providing well-deserved rest and relaxation.
“Our veterans and their families have sacrificed so much to protect our county,” Bank President and CEO, Blaine Boudreau said. “We thank Carol for supporting an organization that has given back to these men and women as a way to honor that sacrifice.”
