New Hampshire SPCA Receives $1,000 Donation from the Partners Bank Employee Donation of the Month
Portsmouth, NH – In New England, the winter can be brutal for people who are struggling to find warm shelter. As the weather gets colder, Partners Bank tries to help the folks who are experiencing those challenges. However, those in need aren’t just the bipedal humans; our furry, four-legged friends are also looking for a place to call home.
In October, as part of the Employee Donation of the Month program, Customer Service Assistant Jenna Ruta chose the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NHSPCA) to receive a $1,000 donation from Partners Bank. Ruta empathizes with the work the NHSPCA does throughout the year, leading her to select them to receive the donation.
“I myself have two rescue dogs, and I know how much they always need things and donations to stay open,” Ruta shares.
The NHSPCA is located at 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH. It is home to adoptable dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and farm animals. What makes this non-profit 501(c)(3) organization unique is their open admission, unlimited stay policy. That means they do not have a time limit for their animals to find homes. This policy ensures the nearly 2,500 animals they receive each year find the best possible home.
The NHSPCA is more than just a temporary warm shelter and rehabilitation facility for these unwanted, neglected, or abused animals. Additionally, they provide training classes for dogs and dog play groups for a fee. They also promote humane education by offering unique opportunities for kids to be compassionate towards and interact with the animals. Kids can read with the animals, volunteer, and even hold their birthday parties at their facility. These events are beneficial for all – kids learn to respect animals, and the animals have time to socialize and explore.
The NHSPCA is not a part of the ASPCA in New York City. The NHSPCA is a private, non-profit organization that does not receive any tax funding; therefore, they rely on generous donations from the community to keep the lights on. Starting on October 3rd, Walter Cheney of New Hampshire is matching donations up to $10,000, so it is highly encouraged for potential donors to donate now.
The $1,000 donation from Partners Bank Employee Donation of the Month program will truly make a difference in the lives of many animals this holiday season. It will provide warmth, food, shelter, and medical care to rescue animals, saving them from the unbearable, wintry conditions outside.
