Thanksgiving can bring a sense of joy and excitement for families as they shop for cranberries, potatoes,
turkey, and other food for their Thanksgiving dinner. For those in our community who are experiencing
food and housing insecurity, Thanksgiving can bring more stress than joy. That was especially true for
the York County Shelter Programs Food Pantry.

Every year, the YCSP Food Pantry accepts turkey donations from the public; however, turkey donations
were low this year. Partners Bank wanted to help by donating 40 turkeys to the YCSP Food Pantry on
Friday, November 17th. Five Partners Bank employees dropped off the turkeys at the donation center
located at 147 Shaker Hill Road, Alfred, ME. This was the first time the bank was able to donate this
many turkeys to the shelter. Forty 10-lb. turkeys can feed approximately 320 people, and Partners Bank
hopes this donation made a difference in those folks’ Thanksgiving.
