Partners Bank Sponsors Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity & Helps with Rochester Build

Standing with the future homeowners, Natalie Buelvas (front, pink hoodie) and Andrew Lucca (far right), Partners Bank employees came together to help Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity with their most recent build in Rochester, NH, on May 30th.

Rochester, NH – What do humans need to simply survive? The basics are air, food, water, shelter, and sleep. Some days, it’s a challenge to acquire and maintain those fundamental needs. Thankfully, there are organizations like Habitat for Humanity, a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities, who strive to provide shelter for those struggling through housing insecurity. Their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live — a vision that Partners Bank can rally behind. To support this vision, Partners Bank is sponsoring Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity with a $1,500 donation.

Additionally, 12 employees donated their time by volunteering at the most recent Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity home build at 168 Four Rod Road, Rochester, NH, on May 30th. The Partners Bank volunteers were Kyla Simpson, Shannon Lavalley, Laila Miller, Bryanna Goulet, Stephen Sessler, Leo Ichim, Eric Walker, Cassandra Mosher, Richard Goodenough, Stacie Parker, Scott Beattie, Christopher Allen

The day started off with some rain, but that did not dampen the team’s enthusiasm to help. They put on their hard hats and went straight to work by hanging strapping, moving framing materials to the second level, installing cellar stairs, and other tasks. Led by Laila Miller, Market Manager for Partners Bank Portsmouth Branch, our volunteers held an upbeat and fun energy throughout the day.

“Everyone worked really hard. It was intensive labor lifting heavy wood,” said Miller. “I’m proud of the work we did to help this next family with their home.”

Habitat for Humanity does more than just build new homes. They often renovate existing homes, breathing new life into a home that could use some extra love and attention. On a smaller scale, they also help people repair their own homes and neighborhoods. After a natural disaster strikes, Habitat for Humanity jumps in to provide shelter assistance for affected people, relieving the stress of finding shelter during a time of crisis. Plus, they also monitor public policies related to housing, community and international development, and advocate for policies that will increase access to decent, affordable housing available to people globally.

Partners Bank and the 12 employee volunteers are elated to have made a direct impact on a family in our community by sponsoring and assisting on-site at the home build. Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity is always accepting donations and volunteers. For more information, visit www.senhhabitat.org.
