President’s Message — A Special Announcement

 

As each year ends, it presents an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s challenges and accomplishments and prepare the strategy for the coming year. That reflection and planning process is something that I have been doing for over forty years!  Over the past few years, I have begun to think about and plan for my retirement.  As a result, I have informed the Board that 2025 will be the last year of my banking career and my last year as President and CEO of Partners Bank.

Fortunately, the management team and the Board have been active in our succession planning for many years. I am very pleased to announce that Anthony Cataldi will become the next President and CEO of Partners Bank.  Anthony joined the bank in 2011 as the Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.  Over the last fourteen years he has held several executive roles throughout the organization.  He currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  Within that role he oversees Lending, Operations, Information Technology, Marketing, and Branch Administration.  He has also served previously as the Chief Risk Officer.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bruce McNamee stated “We are grateful for Blaine’s strong leadership through the most challenging of times in the banking industry.  We are confident Anthony has the broad background and leadership skills necessary to meet the challenges and opportunities that our bank will face in the future.”

The transition of leadership will occur over the next several months. Effective June 30, 2025, I will step down as President of the organization to allow Anthony to step into that role.  I will continue as the CEO through September 30, 2025, at which time Anthony will take on those responsibilities as well. Throughout the remainder of the year, I will continue to serve as a consultant to the management team and the Board.

I am very excited about the transition process.  Anthony and I have had the benefit of working together for many years.  Throughout that process, we have developed a strong friendship and professional relationship with mutual respect which will lead to a smooth and easy transition.

Over the years, Anthony’s accomplishments have been demonstrated by his leading the bank through two core conversions and managing the lending teams to record production years!  He understands our organizational culture, values the employees that drive our success, and treasures the long-term commitment to the communities that we serve.

You will be hearing more from Anthony and myself over the coming months as we complete this transition process.

Partners Bank has been meeting the needs of the communities that we serve for over 92 years!  We are proud of our heritage and tradition which has expanded as our branch footprint has grown to 11 locations in southern Maine and coastal New Hampshire.

I am very proud of our leadership team and their ability to meet the objectives of our Mission and Vision.  We remain committed to being a fiscally strong Mutual Bank that supports our customers’ financial needs and enhances the quality of life in the communities that we serve.
