Caring Unlimited Chosen to Receive $1,000 from Partners Bank Employee Donation of the Month

AVP & Loan Servicing Officer Carrie Carruth selected Caring Unlimited, based in Sanford, to be the recipient of Partners Bank’s Employee Donation of the Month of September.

Sanford, MECaring Unlimited, York County’s domestic violence program, received a $1,000 donation from the Employee Donation of the Month program from Partners Bank. Every month, an employee is chosen to select a charity or organization to receive a $1,000 donation from the Bank. For the month of September, AVP & Loan Servicing Officer Carrie Carruth was chosen, and she selected Caring Unlimited.

Most people are fortunate enough to never need the types of services available at Caring Unlimited. However, for those who find themselves in the unfortunate situation of domestic violence, it’s important for them to know that there is someone out there who cares. That type of caring is the main purpose of Caring Unlimited.

Based in Sanford, ME, Caring Unlimited is York County’s Domestic Violence Resource Center. They offer direct support, transitional housing, and safety planning services to anyone impacted by domestic violence, along with prevention education, training, and professional consultation. Their services and programs are confidential and offered free of charge, which is a relief for those they are helping. They also offer a 24-hour helpline for those who need an immediate caring ear.

According to Bangor Daily News, domestic violence contributes to about half of homicides each year and 30 percent of assaults reported to police in Maine. In York County, Maine’s second most populous county, the Domestic Violence Unit of the York County Sheriff’s Office works together with Caring Unlimited to provide assistance to the families and people affected by domestic violence.

True to their name, Caring Unlimited truly assists anyone and everyone. They do not discriminate because of age, race, religion, color, creed, ancestry or national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, physical or mental disability, service member status, family status, or any other status protected by law.

The donation from Partners Bank will help Caring Unlimited continue to provide free services and programs to anyone impacted by domestic violence. Partners Bank has supported them in the past during the Partners Bank Customer Appreciation Week and on New Year’s Day during the Caring Unlimited Annual Atlantic Plunge.
