Partners Bank Sponsors Lights Out on Cancer III: Fueling Hope, One Race at a Time
At Partners Bank, supporting our community isn’t just part of what we do—it’s who we are. That’s why we’re proud to announce our $500 sponsorship of Lights Out on Cancer III, a grassroots drag racing event raising funds and awareness for cancer patients in Southern Maine.
What began as a heartfelt celebration of Rick Dryden’s victory over cancer has transformed into something far greater: a full-throttle fundraiser that’s already generated nearly $30,000 for The Snell Foundation—a local nonprofit that offers quiet, confidential financial support to patients undergoing treatment.
Lights Out, Heart On
Rick’s first race after finishing chemotherapy was never meant to be a fundraiser. It was a personal milestone and a chance for one man to get back on the track. But what started as a small gathering of friends and family quickly ignited into a powerful community movement.
Cars from across New England rolled in. The stands filled. Engines roared. And in that moment, a simple celebration became a symbol of resilience, love, and the fight to support others facing the same battle.
Today, Lights Out on Cancer is more than a race—it’s a mission.
Turning Horsepower into Hope
With its third annual event set to take place on September 20, 2025 at New Oxford Dragway, Lights Out on Cancer continues its mission of helping local cancer patients focus on healing—not survival. All proceeds go directly to The Snell Foundation, helping families pay for groceries, gas, rent, utilities, and more during one of the hardest times in their lives.
This event isn’t backed by a large organization. It’s powered by friends, families, racers—and now, local businesses like Partners Bank—who believe in showing up for their neighbors.
Why It Matters to Us
As a community-centered bank, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to give back. Supporting Lights Out on Cancer aligns with our commitment to local impact, compassion, and connection. We’re honored to stand behind an event that so powerfully reminds us: the smallest gestures, when fueled by heart, can leave the biggest impact.
Whether you’re a racer, a supporter, or someone looking for a reason to smile, we encourage you to check out this year’s event. You’ll find more than burnout boxes and dragsters—you’ll find community.
Join Us at New Oxford Dragway on September 20, 2025, and help turn horsepower into hope.
